CASES 6
EMILINE MONROE HOUSE
Built circa 1890, it was in the town originally called “Jenny”. Now a back road near Mammoth Cave.
Built by George Washington Taylor Monroe. A known bootlegger and moonshiner.
Sadly in 2009, the previous owner, Emeline Monroe, passed away in the home.  During an ice storm, she was trying to keep warm near her wood stove, when her jacket caught fire. Causing severe burns to her body which later claimed her life.
She had lived in the home her whole life. She will be sadly missed by the community.
